MonterVerde Cloud Forest
Full Day Tour.
This tour includes hanging bridges to see the forest and beautiful animals, a visit to the butterfly garden, hummingbirds, lunch and a “coffee tour”. Monteverde Cloud Forest is a wonderful combination of nature located in the highlands of Santa Elena in Monte Verde. It is an area that is well known for its good weather. When you reach the entrance to the park you will be impressed by the density of the forest and the tropical weather in the area of the park. At some time during the hiking it may rain or turn completely cloudy. A raincoat may be necessary. This park has some of the richest flora and fauna in the world. It offers a large variety of nature with lots to explore and to do.
Visit Selvatura Park, a magnificent conservation project located in the famous Monteverde area, and enjoy extreme adventures and amazing rides or learn about the inhabitants of the rich cloud forest ecosystem at their education center.
At Selvatura you can choose between two different zip-line courses over the forest canopy, each over 3 kms (1.9 miles) long and even boasting a Tarzan Swing! You can also enjoy a more calm experience along the Treetop Walkways, an almost 2-mile trail including 8 long suspension bridges which allow you to take your time and observe each of the forest levels.
You will also have the opportunity to spot hundreds of butterflies in one of the world's largest live exhibitions, the Butterfly Garden, see dozens of unforgettable hummingbirds flying around you in their Hummingbird Garden and view reptiles and amphibians like never before in the Herpetarium.
In the education center you can also visit the world's largest private insect collection and view the Bio-art exhibition as well as exclusive footage from within the forest in their cinema auditorium.
What to bring: comfortable clothes, raincoat, insect repellent, sun block, hat, binoculars and your camera!
